Having arrived in Qatar last year, the MINI John Cooper Works packs the most powerful engine ever for a production MINI – a 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo engine delivering 231 hp and 320 Nm of torque. It also draws on the brand’s motorsport expertise with a package of suspension, brake, aerodynamic and interior upgrades to deliver race-car sensations without losing sight of MINI’s premium position, making ideal vehicle to take around the Losail circuit.
The MINI John Cooper Works was joined by the MINI 5-Door Hatch and 3-Door Hatch, with both variants of the popular model setting new standards within its competitive segment in terms of legroom, headroom and boot space, and boasting two engine variants of BMW Group's latest generation 3 and 4-cylinder engines with TwinPower Turbo Technology. The 4-cylinder petrol engine in the MINI Cooper S 5 door is 192hp and the three-cylinder petrol engine has a peak output of 136hp. The 3-Door hatch also comes with both a three-cylinder and four-cylinder engine using a six-speed automatic gearbox and MINI TwinPower Turbo technology. The Cooper is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine, with outputs of 136hp, while the Cooper S 2.0 litre 4-cylinder unit outputs 192 hp with maximum torque of 280 Nm reaching 0-100 in 6.7 seconds.
