Ford’s Global Commitment to Truck and SUV Leadership Evident with Strong Line-up, All-New Models at

Ford takes centre stage for the 2017 Dubai International Motor Show today with an exciting and impressive line-up of SUVs and trucks, reaffirming its position as a pioneer and multi-segment heavyweight. Ford’s appearance at the Dubai International Motor Show underscores its commitment to the region and the areas of the motor industry in which the company leads – trucks and SUVs.

“Ford trucks and SUVs have a storied history, and have proven time and again the company’s ability to set benchmarks for innovation and quality,” said Jacques Brent, president of Ford Middle East and Africa. “Ford has always been at the forefront of both the truck and SUV markets, and we’re committed to remaining at the top. A few weeks ago we announced that we had reallocated $7 billion from our car projects to developing our SUVs and truck ranges.”

“Our commitment to lead in this segment is stronger than ever as is evidenced by the investments we recently announced and by the new models we are bringing at this year’s Dubai International Motor Show that continue to deliver what our customers want and value.” Leading the charge at this year’s Dubai International Motor Show (DIMS), the new generation 2018 Ford Expedition promises to redefine the full-sized SUV segment. Powered by a second-generation 3.5-litre EcoBoost® twin-turbo engine with up to 400 horsepower, best in class second and third row leg and hip-room, class-leading towing capability and more than 40 new features and technologies, the new Expedition is the smartest, most capable and most adaptable ever. The launch of the new generation Expedition makes the Ford SUV range the youngest and freshest among its main competitors for 2018.

Also appearing on the Ford stand at the Dubai International Motor Show is the new 2018 F-150. Tougher, smarter, and more capable than ever, F-150 has the most advanced powertrain line-up ever, delivering best-in-class towing and payload for the Middle East’s pickup drivers. The new F-150 has best-in-class towing (six tonne) thanks to its 3.5-litre EcoBoost twin-turbo V8 and enhanced 5.0-litre V8. Three years after introducing a high-strength aluminium-alloy-bodied F-150, a new truck arrives with bold new styling, advanced technologies, a segment-first 10-speed automatic transmission and F-150’s most advanced engine line-up yet. F-150 is part of Ford’s F-Series truck line-up – America’s best-selling truck for 40 consecutive years and its best-selling vehicle for 35 years, and the world’s best-selling car in 2016.

The new Ford F-150 comes as Ford celebrates 100 years in truck leadership – a legacy that began with the launch of the 1917 Model TT, a truck based on the hugely successful Model T car, and grew, over the course of a century, into the world’s best-selling truck brand. Ford helped create the SUV segment, first with the Bronco in 1966, and then with the Explorer more than 25 years ago.
