Ferrari 849 Testarossa, Precision Beyond Power

Reviving the name Testarossa is not an act of nostalgia, it is a declaration.
The Ferrari 849 Testarossa replaces the SF90 Stradale and now sits at the summit of Ferrari’s production range. Delivering 1,050 cv from its plug-in hybrid powertrain, it is the most powerful road-going Ferrari ever built.

My drive began on the open roads around Sevilla, where the car revealed its refined dual character. It concluded at Monteblanco Circuit, behind the wheel of the Assetto Fiorano specification, where its engineering brilliance fully unfolded.
This is not merely a faster Ferrari. It is a smarter one.

Every surface on the 849 Testarossa is engineered, not styled. It doesn’t just cut through the air. It commands it
Exterior
The 849 Testarossa introduces a bold architectural design language inspired by 1970s Sports Prototypes, yet executed with modern precision. The sculpted three-dimensional doors are not decorative, they function as aerodynamic channels directing airflow toward the intercoolers and rear systems. The front underfloor has been completely redesigned, generating 35% of total downforce. At the rear, the twin-tail architecture integrates with an active spoiler capable of switching between Low Drag and High Downforce configurations in under a second.

The result is 415 kg of downforce at 250 km/h , paired with a 15% improvement in cooling efficiency.
On the highways outside Sevilla, even at high speed, the car felt composed and immovable. The aerodynamic load is perceptible, Â not visually exaggerated, but physically reassuring.

Interior
Inside, Ferrari has refined its human-machine philosophy.
The cockpit blends berlinetta architecture with single-seater inspiration. A horizontal dashboard layout and central sail motif create an enveloping driver-focused environment. Mechanical buttons return to the steering wheel  including the iconic red Engine Start button, restoring tactile interaction without sacrificing digital configurability.

Ergonomics have improved. Space optimization is noticeable. The driving position is low and perfectly aligned. Carbon fiber elements feel structural rather than decorative.
On public roads, the car felt remarkably usable. Suspension compliance and hybrid smoothness make daily driving entirely realistic, something rarely said about a 1,050 cv supercar.

Powertrain
At its heart lies Ferrari’s latest evolution of the F154 engine:
4.0 Liter Twin-Turbo V8
1050 cv and 842 Nm of torque
The V8 is paired with three electric motors, two at the front axle and one rear MGU-K derived from Formula 1 experience.
Performance figures are extraordinary:

0–100 km/h: under 2.3 seconds
0–200 km/h: 6.35 seconds
Top speed: over 330 km/h
Acceleration is relentless yet progressive. The larger turbochargers minimize lag, while electric torque fills any gap instantly. Power delivery feels continuous, not explosive, a sustained surge rather than a violent spike.

ABS Evo & FIVE
What truly defines the 849 Testarossa is not its power, but its intelligence.
The latest ABS Evo system does more than prevent wheel lock. It calculates optimal slip for each wheel individually, maximizing longitudinal grip even during combined braking and cornering. At Monteblanco, this translated into later braking points, greater trail-braking stability, and exceptional repeatability lap after lap.

FIVE (Ferrari Integrated Vehicle Estimator.)
FIVE creates a real-time digital twin of the vehicle using advanced modelling and 6D sensor data. It estimates parameters such as speed and yaw angle with extreme precision, feeding this information into traction control, torque vectoring, electronic differential management, and braking systems.
The result is proactive correction rather than reactive intervention.

Monteblanco Circuit — Assetto Fiorano Unleashed
The Assetto Fiorano specification sharpens everything further.
Approximately 30 kg lighter thanks to carbon fiber and titanium components, it features Multimatic dampers, lighter springs, reduced roll gradient, and revised aerodynamics. The twin tails are replaced by twin wings that dramatically increase vertical load without significant drag penalty.
Turn-in is sharper. Body control is tighter. High-speed stability improves even further. The braking system  with larger discs and optimized ventilation delivers remarkable thermal consistency.

The 849 Testarossa proves that the future of Ferrari is not just faster, Â it is smarter

Verdict
The Ferrari 849 Testarossa is not simply the most powerful Ferrari ever built.
It is the most computationally advanced.
It combines 1,050 cv with predictive dynamics, enhanced aerodynamics, and genuine usability. On the roads of Sevilla, it felt composed and refined. On Monteblanco Circuit, the Assetto Fiorano version revealed a track-focused intensity that borders on race-car territory.
