For as long as big, luxury limousines have existed, German manufacturers have dominated the segment. As a general consensus, the Mercedes S-Class was usually the nicest to be in, the BMW 7-Series had the best chassis, and the Audi A7 aced the other two in the looks department. The truth is, they were virtually indistinguishable unless you really wanted to nitpick. You’d be happy with either one of the three without ever looking back. With the new S-Class set to hit the market sometime in 2020, BMW has decided to beat the Stuttgart manufacturer to the punch and launch their own rival first.

There’s been speculation of a new facelifted 7-Series for years now, but BMW managed to keep specifics...

One of BMW’s most popular model throughout the 1990s was the now-iconic 8-Series. Although it never sold in huge figures due to its price, it was easily one of the most sought-after cars back in its day. After a nearly 20 year hiatus, BMW decided to bring the nameplate back, and take the fight to Mercedes and their newly christened S-Class Coupe. Naturally, no Coupe is complete without its Convertible counterpart, hence the new 8-Series Convertible. The question now is not can the 8-Series Convertible take the fight to the S-Class, but can both of them take the fight to cars like the Bentley Continental Convertible.

To answer that question and see how the new 8-Series Convert...

When Jaguar first introduced the F-Pace back in 2015, it quickly turned into one of their most popular models overnight. The market for compact luxury crossovers is huge at the moment, and the people who buy these cars can’t get enough of them. If there’s one thing people love more than luxury crossovers though, it’s fast luxury crossovers. Queue the Jaguar F-Pace SVR. Designed and built by the special boffins from Jaguar’s skunkworks division called Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), it’s one of the fastest crossovers currently on the market.

When we recently got a chance to test one in Nice, France, out of all places, we jumped at the opportunity. Here’s what spending a...

When BMW first introduced the X5 back in 1999, the SUV segment was still relatively new. In the short span of just a couple of years though, the X5 did more to progress that very same SUV market more than any other car before it. It sold like crazy, both in Europe and America. Following its success, BMW decided to launch the X3, a smaller proposition of the same great X5 formula which brought them a lot of new customers. Although the X3 never caught up to the X5 in terms of popularity, it at least made sure BMW occupied and held the entire SUV segment.

As the SUV segment evolved and more and more niches started popping up all over the place, people thought it was only a matter of time before...

Although the world is full of SUVs to fill practically every niche segment there is, we don’t seem to be able to get enough of them. Big, luxury SUVs aren’t as popular as they used to be and the small crossovers don’t attract that big of a crowd. In other words, the mid-size SUV segment is currently one of the hottest segments in the automotive industry. Manufacturers are fighting to get their share of the market and are doing so in grand fashion. In the last couple of years alone we’ve seen plenty of premium manufacturers offer SUVs (Lamborghini, Bentley and Rolls-Royce), but none of them are a match for the already established competitors. Competitors like VW.

The Tiguan and the Touareg are...

Ferrari has a rich history of introducing numerous high-end sports car loaded with impressive technologies and sturdy powertrains. The special edition V8 powered sports cars including the 360 Challenge Stradale, 430 Scuderia, and the 458 Speciale have undoubtedly set some striking records in the supercar history-making Ferrari one of the leading brands in the automotive industry. The latest V8 mounted supercar in the lineup is the new 2019 Ferrari 488 Pista which the automaker claims is the “most-powerful road-going V8 in the Ferrari history”.

We got a chance to test drive this beast on the Fiorano Circuit and saying that it was an experience of a lifetime would not be an overstatement.

Ask anyone in Austria about the best road where you can put your driving skills on test and enjoy a breathtaking view at the same time and the answer would be the The Grossglockner High Alpine Road. It is the highest surfaced mountain pass road in Austria with an elevation of 2,504 m and provides a beautiful view of the Alpine divide. In the automotive business, if you are invited to test drive on this particular road and that too, the all-new Bentley Continental GT, you just can’t deny the offer. This first drive review highlights our road trip from Austria to Italy and finally reaching Germany with the all-new 2019 Bentley Continental GT.

From the vantage point of the brand new Range Rover Sport SVR’s cockpit, life looks more than good. This is, afterall, an SUV that JLR proudly proclaims: “the fastest, most powerful and most dynamically focused Land Rover ever produced.” (Interesting that they went with “Land Rover” there— hardly seems necessary, but I suppose it’s meant to remind us that this is, ultimately, one big happy family of SUVs). This is a Range Rover though, so it’s no slouch in the comfort department, except that it boasts the least comfortable seats in the contemporary Land Rover line.

The new flagship Range Rover Sport SVR puts enhanced focus on the performance of the most dynamic model in the Range Rover fami...

The popularity of SUVs is on the rise. They’re quickly outselling the humble hatchback and the sedan combined. People like the appeal of a big, practical body but still demand car-like behavior from their SUV. Most manufacturers have at least one SUV offering in their lineup nowadays, and companies like Ford and Chevrolet offer over half a dozen such vehicles. Although most of these vehicles are classified as SUVs, there are in fact quite a few differences between them.

Most of the so-called SUVs are just jacked up cars pretending to be something they’re not. Sure they’re taller and they ride a lot higher, but the underpinnings are based on their car siblings. The small and mid-size crossover...

If Ferrari invites you to a test drive in Italy out of all the places, you reschedule everything else and say yes immediately. The test drive this time concerned their latest Portofino. A direct replacement for the California T, the Portofino is Ferrari’s luxurious and comfortable GT car. It’s the softest most relaxing car they make, but it’s got big shoes to fill. We loved the original California, and even more so the subsequent California T. Despite the amazing 488 and F12, the California T was the best Ferrari to live with on a day to day basis. The question is, can this new model be a match?

Our Portofino wasn’t finished in the traditional Ferrari red, but a wonderful...

If you get a chance to drive a Ferrari, you say yes without thinking twice about it. When the Ferrari in question is the latest 812 Superfast flagship, your question is when can I drive it? That’s exactly what happened with us. I got a call from Ferrari asking whether I’d like to test out their latest creation. Naturally a positive response from me followed, and the entire trip was planned out in a matter of hours. Planes are usually boring and dull, but they’re even more so when you’re extremely eager to get behind the wheel of, what might be, the best Ferrari ever made. Ferrari LaFerrari excluded of course.

Naming your car Superfast takes a lot of courage. Ferrari has used the moniker in...

We recently did a review of the first-generation Ferrari GTC4Lusso, when we got to drive it on some twisty mountain roads complete with the mandatory gorgeous sceneries. Needless to say, it felt like a true Ferrari and we absolutely adored it. So you can probably imagine our enthusiasm when Ferrari said we could drive the brand-new GTC4Lusso T. We packed all of our gear and headed out to the airport in Doha. Our destination? The beautiful and sunny Monteriggioni commune in the Italian region of Tuscany. Unfortunately, the weather en route to the airport was anything but sunny.

After having our flight delayed, we had to wait for a break in the weather before we could fly out to Italy and drive...

We love going to sports car and super car launches as much as everyone else, but for sheer experience and an unrivaled fun factor, nothing beats a Land Rover launch. We’ve been to more than a dozen of these launch parties, each more amazing than the previous one. You see, unlike the usual car debuts where manufacturers throw a cocktail party next to a fancy track or a windy road, Land Rover likes to involve you more in the actual process and showcase what their car is truly capable off. For the most recent Land Rover Discovery launch, we headed over to California and received a bit of a surprise when we arrived.

For starters, it was absolutely pouring with rain. In a country where sunshine r...

Recently we had a chance to drive the brand-new 2017 Honda Accord thanks to DOMASCO. Although our drive was relatively short, we were able to conclude a couple of things and really get a feel for the car. We started off from the gorgeous capital city of Doha. The Honda quickly lived up to its famed comfort and luxury, not missing a single beat in traffic. Despite encountering some heavy stop and go situations, the Accord dealt with the entire ordeal beautifully.

Air conditioning set just right, the premium stereo system playing nice music in the background, and the occasional cruise control whenever the traffic allowed it. It was, for all intents and purposes, the perfect commuter vehicle. T...

It’s not every day you wake up you get to take a brand-new Ferrari on a long drive through some of the best sceneries on the planet, on the best roads on earth. But that’s exactly what I did a while back, when we were given the keys to the Ferrari GTC4Lusso. That’s right, as if the fact that it was a Ferrari wasn’t enough, we were given their flagship GTC4Lusso model, essentially a four-wheel drive F12, but more on that later.

The day before the off I wasn’t even able to sleep properly. The thought that I’d be driving what is essentially Ferrari’s most sought after car at the moment (after the LaFerrari of course) on some of the best roads on earth wouldn’t even let me take a quick nap.

After...
