Qatar Sustainability Week, which launched on Sunday, has proven to be the perfect showcase for the Hyundai IONIQ, the award-winning, industry-leading hybrid vehicle that is making its mark in Qatar.

As supporting partner for Qatar Sustainability Week – organised by Qatar Green Building Council –Skyline Automotive, the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Qatar, is perfectly placed to help raise the profile and awareness of hybrid technologies and establish them successfully in the country.

Highlighting Skyline Automotive's involvement in Qatar Sustainability Week, a Hyundai IONIQ model was prominently displayed during the official opening at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). During a walk-round of the QNCC, Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) and accompanying officials discussed with Skyline Automotive's General Manager, Paiman El Malla, the vision for future mobility in the country, the growing popularity of hybrid cars and the development of the eco-friendly car segment in Qatar.

Skyline Automotive and Hyundai IONIQ are participating in an innovative promotional campaign during the course of Sustainability Week run through the Green Life App, a sustainability loyalty platform which supports a wide range of sustainability activities. Consumers who take a test drive of the IONIQ organised through Skyline Automotive's newly opened showroom on Salwa Road can scan a QR code, collect 'hero' points and then redeem these against a variety of promotional offers, discounts and more with participating partners. Full details of the partners and offers available are listed at www.greenlifehero.com. Such innovative approaches are typical of the steps that Skyline Automotive is using to engage the local community in the Hyundai brand.

Held under the patronage of his Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar Sustainability Week engages the community in a wide range of sustainability-oriented activities. The initiative plays a crucial role in raising awareness among the population while showcasing the progress Qatar has made in the areas of sustainability and green buildings.

Commenting on Skyline Automotive's involvement as supporting partner in Sustainability Week 2017, Paiman El Malla, General Manager, said: "There is no better platform than Sustainability Week to raise awareness of the positive steps that we are taking towards the future of mobility in Qatar, so it makes absolute sense for us to partner in this way. We're committed to bringing the very latest technologies to the country and supporting efforts to ensure the availability of eco-friendly alternatives for Qatar's motorists. We're delighted with the response to the IONIQ Hybrid since we launched officially earlier this year at the Qatar Motor Show and looking forward to developing the growing eco-friendly vehicle segment further."

Skyline Automotive is committed to raising awareness of IONIQ's capabilities in helping to meet the nation's sustainability vision. Through its focus on future mobility, Hyundai is perfectly placed to support Qatar's sustainable development goals.

The Hyundai IONIQ was officially launched in April at the Qatar Motor Show with the first models arriving in the country at the end of August. Since then, it has captured the imagination of the country's motorists leading to strong and sustained interest amongst car owners. In addition to its eco-friendly performance and low CO2 emissions, the IONIQ Hybrid is in many other respects the perfect city car, suited to the needs of modern urbanites and representing the future of mobility.

Qatar is taking impressive steps towards supporting a clean and healthy environment. In June this year, the Ministry of Energy and Industry, Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) signed an MoU agreement designed to find ways of supporting the use of eco-friendly vehicles in Qatar as part of the country's commitment to future generations.
