Following its recent global debut, the Lamborghini Urus was presented by Al Wajba Motors, the official dealer of Lamborghini in Qatar. The Urus has landed on Middle Eastern soil and it did so in spectacular fashion.
Revealed in Qatar for the very first time, the Urus saw the light of day at the Al Hazm Galleria at Al Hazm Mall, the most luxurious mall in the world. Just as expected, the audience was wowed by Lamborghini’s very first SUV offering, it seemed to have the same reaction of shock among all of the event attendees.
“The unveiling of the Urus spiked an immediate reaction amongst the general public, with most of the initial examples being sold out immediately and today we are proud to be the first dealer in the region to launch the Urus in the Middle East” stated Mr.Saher Baaj, General Manager of Al Wajba Motors.
Powering the Urus is a new front-mounted 4.0-liter petrol V8 twinturbo engine generating 641 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 850 Nm of torque at 2,2504,500 rpm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and will go on to 305 km/h. Power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed transmission. To help it stop from high speeds, Lamborghini has designed and built the largest carbon-ceramic brakes ever fitted to a production car.
The choice of a turbo engine, the first in a Lamborghini, reflects the desired usage range of the Urus. Especially in offroad conditions a high level of torque at low revs is necessary and can be guaranteed only by such an engine, providing optimal engine responsiveness and efficiency Al Hazm Mall proved to be the perfect venue for launching the new Urus. The luxurious mall reflects the Urus’ luxury perfectly, full of premium materials and superb fit and finish Lamborghini known for.
The Urus remained at the showroom for three days after the launch for the configuration session of the customers who placed the orders.
