AAB launch the all-new Camry 2018 The all-new Camry redefines the standard for mid-size sedans

Setting new standards for the mid-size sedan segment in design, performance, and comfort, AAB announced today the launch of the all-new 2018 Camry in Qatar. The design of the eighth-generation Camry aims to test the limits of performance and intelligence, infusing the high-end sedan with a refined feel.

The design team began with a blank slate, using Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) as the basis for the all-new platform, units, electronics, and other core components. The result is a striking emotional character, stunningly beautiful design, responsive driving, and premium ride performance.

“To create something that stirs people’s soul, we have laid out the concept of a new sedan that provides fun and excitement behind the wheel,” said the chief engineer of the all-new Camry, Masato Katsumata. “In developing the next-generation Toyota Camry, we were able to start with a blank slate, which allowed us to create a true driver’s car that behaves exactly as the driver intends. The all-new 2018 Camry is an extremely balanced machine with much more excitement and emotion than any previous model. It keeps the driver and passengers comfortable and fresh on long drives while instilling them with confidence on twisty roads.”

Yugo Miyamoto, Chief Representative, Middle East and North Africa Representative ‎Office, Toyota Motor Corporation, said: “We are excited to launch the all-new Camry and build on the success the car already enjoys in the region. With its exhilarating design, refined interior, stirring driving performance, cutting-edge technology, and class-leading fuel efficiency, the 2018 Camry creates a whole new value proposition while ensuring seamless fun and excitement for driver and passengers alike and reestablish itself as the new standard in the mid-size sedan category. We extend our deepest gratitude to our customers in the region for their continued support and feedback, which inspire us to excel and develop cars that exceed their expectations.”

Since its debut in 1982 and subsequent evolution over eight generations, the Camry has come to be embraced by people around the world for its excellent performance, ride quality, and its high level of Quality, Durability, and Reliability (QDR). The car has established an unshakeable presence in the standard mid-size sedan market – both in the Middle East and globally – with total sales surpassing 19 million units.

The all-new Camry provides a comfortable and stable ride with superior handling characteristics, thanks to Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA), which represents an entirely new strategy to the way the company designs, engineers, and packages its vehicles. TNGA retains all of Toyota’s traditional values of superlative build quality and safety while injecting a fun driving experience that plays on all the senses. The physical manifestation is the usage of a new engine, transmission, and the GA-K platform.

Set to become a new sensation among the region’s aspiring car enthusiasts, the all-new Camry comes with three powertrain options; a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 178 hp and 23.6 kg-m of torque and mated with a six-speed automatic transmission, and a newly- developed 3.5-liter V6 with D-4S fuel injection system that produces 298 hp and 36.3 kg-m of torque and mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission. In addition, a new electrified hybrid system will be introduced later this year, combining two power sources consisting of a petrol engine and two electric motors, producing 176 hp and 118 hp, respectively, and delivering 22.5 kg-m and 20.6 kg-m of torque, respectively. It is also mated with an Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (ECVT) that simulates a six-speed sequential shift transmission, delivering a new level of driving pleasure.

With an exciting interior featuring a distinctive design, and offering convenience and comfort with a layer of luxury, the bold new car’s cabin is accentuated with a range of advanced features, including enhanced in-vehicle 8-inch information displays, wireless charging system for smartphones, dual-zone automatic air conditioning system, six-speaker sound system, multi-adjustable power front seats, and 60/40 split and reclining rear seats.

As with any other Toyota model, safety remains a top priority for the all-new Camry, which includes a comprehensive array of safety features to protect its occupants, such as six SRS airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), and an enhanced body structure and platform structure with a 30-percent increase in torsional rigidity, among many others.

Available in nine distinctive exterior colors of which two have been newly-developed, including Graphite ME, and Platinum White Pearl MC, which expresses strength and supple flexibility with its warm tint and metallic feel, the 2018 Camry lets customers express their individuality. Also, and for the first time in Camry (for the SE grade with V6 engine), there will be two-tone color schemes that accentuate the Camry’s sporty and sculpted shape, and set it apart from the competition. On the other hand, the interior comes in a total of three color schemes. Furthermore, the all-new Camry has been rearmed with a 17-inch alloy wheel and an 18-inch alloy wheel featuring two intricate designs – with one exclusively available for the SE grade.
