Nasser Al Attiyah has teamed up with Jorge Lorenzo for the ultimate motorsports adventure. With the 2019 MotoGP season opener approaching, the legendary Rally Raid champion brought out Repsol Honda’s new rider to the deserts of Qatar for a breathtaking ride.
As the pre-season preparations went according to plan, Lorenzo took some time off to explore Qatar’s country side with the three-time Rally Dakar winner. The two motorsports athletes took off into the sandy dunes in Al Attiyah’s custom-made buggy on a high-speed trip!
"It is interesting to see how an athlete that rides at 340 km/h wearing only thin leathers can be so impressed when we wheelied, but it reminds me of when I once did a tandem ride around Losail on a two-seater MotoGP and I got just as out of my comfort zone as Jorge did today", claimed Nasser Al Attiyah.
As for Lorenzo, when asked about his desert adventure with Al Attiyah, he said: “It was very funny and scary at the same time and it made me curious to ask Nasser so many questions about this buggy and also about the rallies and how he prepares for this motorsport.”
Lorenzo is Repsol Honda’s newest addition, joining his team colleague five-team champion Marc Marquez during the off season. The two are set to put on an impressive first race of the season at the Losail Circuit.
