Beirut to host the Second Edition of the e-MotorShow® Middle East for Electric & Hybrid Cars!

Under the patronage of H.E. the Minister of Tourism Mr. Walid Nassar and in collaboration with the Association of Importers of Automobiles in Lebanon (AIA), Beirut will host the Second Edition of the e- MotorShow® Middle East for Electric & Hybrid Cars, organized by e-EcoSolutions Sustainability Firm, from 10 to 14 May 2023 at the Forum De Beyrouth. This was announced on Wednesday May 3, 2023 during a Press Conference at the Middle East Airline Training and Conference Center.

The show will include 3 main platforms:

  1. An exhibition of Electric & Hybrid Cars by different leading car brands (including Aiqar, Skywell) as well as by leaders in the electrification of the automotive industry such as EV charger suppliers, tire brands, insurance companies, renewable energy companies, urban e-mobility and more.

  2. An e-Mobility Tech-Talks Platform featuring various e-mobility topics that aim to raise public awareness for a faster and better adoption of EVs in Lebanon.

  3. e-Circuits for Test Drives, both Indoor and Outdoor, allowing visitors to test-drive “noise-free” and “emissions-free” electrified vehicles as well as 4 different types of e-mobility: electric kick scooters, bicycles, motorbikes and scooters.

The press conference featured the words of H.E. the Minister of Tourism Mr. Walid Nassar, Mr. Georges Tabet, Mr. Gilbert Tegho, CEO of e-EcoSolutions, and was attended by different media and event supporters.

His Excellency the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Walid Nassar “The need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to as close to zero as possible, is one of the major challenges that the tourism industry is currently facing. The tourism sector is under continuous pressure to bring down its carbon footprint and adopt sustainable initiatives that reduce the impact on the environment. To this end, airline companies, hotels and travel destinations need to work hand in hand to develop long term strategies that promote energy efficiency, the use of alternative energy sources and waste reduction. It is expected that the exhibition will bring around 12 thousand visitors, and consequently, its aim converges with that of the Ministry of Tourism in its latest “Ahla Bhattalleh” campaign, to bring more visitors to the country and promote responsible tourism.”

Gilbert Tegho, CEO of e-EcoSolutions “As Lebanon witnesses a continuous increase in fuel prices and a general hyperinflation in its economy, our goal is to inspire people to transition to e-mobility and help them understand how to benefit from such a transition in the current conditions. Not only do electric vehicles reduce carbon emissions and improve air quality, but they also offer significant cost savings in terms of fuel, maintenance, and operating costs.” Mr. Tegho went on to add that “Electricity might not be provided, as it should, but the Lebanese people are independent and will act on their own. An example of that is the booming market of solar panels these past 3 years. People are now generating their own clean energy, so why not continue on this path towards eco-friendly transport?”

In conclusion, Mr. Tegho thanked the Ministry of Tourism and the Association of Importers of Automobiles in Lebanon (AIA) for their efforts and support in the realization of the e-Motorshow Middle East.

Georges Tabet, President of the AIA “Allow me to highlight an important point related to Electric Vehicles. In the 5th article of the competition law, the government gave permission for non-agents to import new cars, whereby stating the following “any Lebanese person who imports a product that has an exclusive agent in Lebanon, for trade purposes, has to provide the consumer with all the after-sale services, support and warranties, as specified by the manufacturer”. Only the accredited agent that has an exclusive representation contract, is able to provide all the services specified by the manufacturing company.”

Finally, he said: “The Association will do its utmost to support the evolution that is currently happening in the cars industry, making sure the welfare of all is preserved, from traffic safety to the economy, environment and consumer protection.”

At the end of the Press Conference, e-EcoSolutions invited all visitors interested in attending the e- MotorShow® Middle East to register online in order to cut the queues at the door.
